Space
* Does number of guests = size of venue?
* Possible locations
Tables, chairs, podium
Electricity
* If everyone is bringing a laptop then outlets all over the space is key
* Remember to bring lots of 6 outlet power strips
Internet Access
* Ethernet Network is sufficient
* Scott can procure a wireless router for the event
Food / Drink
* Can this be a donated / sponsored item?
Sound System
* Can this be a donated / sponsored item?
o Tom: I have a Peavey Escort 2000 that can be used.
Other Considerations
* How important is it to procure a space and set a date immediately?
o Gregor: Fairly, depending what timeframe we're thinking of for the event. Jan, Feb, March, or April?
o Neil: Yeah, important. Preferably Jan/Feb while it's cold and... well, hey, this is Naptown, what else is there, right?
* Does anyone have the right contacts around the Indy area to procure an appropriate space?
o Neil: I'd be willing to approach Cha-Cha hqtrs at Clay Terrace (Carmel).
o Tom Ho: I have some contacts at ChaCha and Scott Jones is one of my Facebook "friends" :^)
o Gregor: I just had an off-hand thought that IUPUI could provide space easily enough that would meet the network/power needs. They might want some control of the event though, even if it's just a speaker they designate.
Tom Ho: I need to know more about BarCamp to figure out WHO to "pitch" it to at IUPUI. By the way, the NEW Campus Center
http://campuscenter.iupui.edu is opening this winter!
o Scott: Great! That's two options right there! Neil; do you think the UBCafe might be open to hosting us?
o Neil: Absolutely.
o Neil: How about eTapestry? I'm guessing Jay Love might be very open, as host/sponsor.
o Gregor: My friend Paul suggested the JA center
